HOW TO CREATE ONE YEAR OF BLOG CONTENT IN 30 DAYS

CONTENT. CONTENT. CONTENT.

As a busy entrepreneur, creating content is one of the most important tasks in your business and yet it can feel overwhelming, to say the least.

Between Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Tik-Tok posts, stories, reels, videos, Lives, and images, not to mention writing blog articles, there isn’t much time left in a day!

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could get ahead with your content this year so you have more time to concentrate on building your platform to better serve your clients in different ways like sharing daily inspiration, building a team, learning more, being interviewed on podcasts, and getting published in magazines?

Hire a social media manager if you can.

But if you’re just starting out and can’t afford to hire yet, here are some easy steps you can take to get ahead of the curve this year.

How to Create One Year of Blog Content in 30 Days

STEP 1: GET TO KNOW YOURSELF, YOUR CLIENTS & YOUR BUSINESS

Before you do anything, spend some time connecting (or reconnecting) to yourself, your clients, and your business.

Clarity is KEY.

It is absolutely VITAL to have clarity around who you are, what your brand stands for, and the direction of your business. The more in tune you are with yourself, the easier it is to create a brand and business that you love.

The core of you and the core of your brand go hand in hand.

Lastly, pretend you’re going to sell your business in five years. This will give you a bird’s eye view of why you’re in business and where you’re taking your business.

STEP 2: LIST YOUR LAUNCHES, SALES & HOLIDAY SPECIALS

Whether you own a brick and mortar business or an online business, you’re going to host launches, sales, and specials throughout the year. Throughout the rest of this post, I’m going to refer to launches, sales, and specials as launches.

Some entrepreneurs launch only once or twice per year. Some launch quarterly. Some each month. Some are continuously launching. Do what’s right for you, your audience, and your business.

STEP 3: LIST YOUR PRODUCTS & SERVICES

Using a clean sheet of paper, list all of your products, services, and offers.

STEP 4: KEYWORD RESEARCH

Now that you know who your ideal client is, how you best serve them (your products and services) and have organized a launch schedule, it’s time to do some keyword research.

Keywords and key phrases describe what you do, the services you provide, and the products you sell. These are also the words that people type into the search bar when they go to Google, Bing, Yahoo, and Pinterest.

These keywords and key phrases are used throughout your website and content. People type in keywords and key phrases when searching for something. Google looks for a match. When a match is found a list of options comes up in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Page).

The goal is to create a list of highly searchable keywords and key phrases so your website shows up high on the list on the first page of the SERPs.

List five to 15 words that describe your brand, niche, products, and services.

Then use keyword research tools to make sure the keywords you listed are highly searched keywords. If not, use keywords that are highly searched that match your products, services, and offers.

You can also use Google, Quora, YouTube, Amazon, Wikipedia, Bing, Pinterest, etc. to expand your list. Type a keyword into the search bar on any one of those search engines, and pay attention to the list of related searches in the pop-up window at the top of the page, as well as at the bottom of the page.

STEP 5: NUMBER OF BLOG POSTS OR LONG FORM CONTENT

Make a decision (and a commitment) for the number of blog posts you’re going to write each week—or videos if YouTube is going to be your main outlet. Are you going to write one post per week? Two per week? This will determine the number of ideas you’ll need for the year.

If you’re going to write one blog article per week (or create one video), then you’ll need 52 topic ideas. If you’re going to write two blog articles per week, then you’re going to need 104 topic ideas.

STEP 6: CREATE A LIST OF 52 (104, 156, ETC.) TOPIC IDEAS

This is WAY easier than you think it’s going to be. When I sat down to create a topic list for a whole year, I envisioned myself sitting at my desk for hours on end. It only took me about 20 minutes to get this done.

Go to Pinterest. Use your keyword/keyphrase list and one at a time type a keyword/keyphrase into the search bar. A list of ideas will come up for each one of your keywords/keyphrases. Begin creating your list using themes around your launches, niche, services, offers, and products.

Create your list on a Word doc, enter the topics into an editorial calendar, create a draft for each topic, whatever works best for you.

I use ClickUp for project management and plan to write three articles per week. I entered my topics into ClickUp along with tasks for posting to Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.

STEP 7: PLANNING SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS

Once you have topic ideas for your long-form content, you can create three to five short-form posts for Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Tik-Tok (whatever platforms you’re using) from each of those long-form articles.

STEP 8: SET TIME ASIDE EVERY SINGLE DAY

Here’s where this gets fun.

Steps one through seven may have taken you a couple of hours, or a whole day. You now have a choice to make. How much time are you going to set aside each day to get ahead of the curve this year.

You could potentially get ALL of your content created for an entire year by committing to writing for a couple of hours every day for the next 29 days.

And you will then have created ONE YEAR OF BLOG CONTENT IN 30 DAYS leaving you with extra time each day for the rest of the year to learn more, engage with your audience at a deeper level, build automated systems in preparation for fast growth, make more money, hire a team, and so much more.

And the best part? As a side-effect of focused energy for 30 days toward a single goal, you’ll build new habits that will sustain you into the future and you’ll experience greater confidence in knowing that you can do hard things.
